Cinnamon Maple Roasted Pecans

These Cinnamon Maple Roasted Pecans are so easy! After making them once, you won’t even need a recipe to toss them together again. They are the perfect nutrient dense snacking treat–addicting while hot, perfect as a topping (on yogurt and salads, too!) or combined into a trail mix. The best part is that you only need the pecans and three ingredients, which you probably already have in the pantry: real maple syrup, cinnamon, and salt.

First, heat up a skillet. Turn it on and let it fume while you’re gathering the pecans, cinnamon, and maple syrup. Also, set out a cup with a few tablespoons of water in it. Now, get those pecans onto the hot skillet and start stirring. Keep ’em moving! It may take a few minutes, but we want to see browned edges like this:

Now, things move quickly here. You’re 30 seconds to the end. Pour the water on–it’s going to sizzle and steam–so satisfying! Savor this moment of being the amazing Pecan Chef that you are.

Next, quickly add the maple syrup.

Give the pecans a good stir to evenly coat them in the syrup. Sprinkle around a good heaping spoon of cinnamon–we like cinnamon. Be friendly with it. Once everything is well mixed, spread the pecans on parchment paper to cool. While the pecans are still moist, happily sprinkle with salt.

1 cup pecans 
3 tablespoons real maple syrup 
1 heaping teaspoon cinnamon 
2 tablespoons water 
salt
